Conor Keighrey is a researcher and lecturer at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest, Ireland (formerly Athlone Institute of Technology). He received his BSc. in Computer Network Management and Cloud Infrastructure in 2016 his and was awarded his PhD in 2020. His doctoral research focused on identifying the key factors that influence Quality of Experience (QoE) in emerging immersive multimedia technologies, including Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). He is highly active within the multimedia research community working closely as part of the technical programme committee for several international conferences.
Throughout his research journey, Conor has won numerous international awards including the Best Student Paper Award at the International Conference on Quality of Multimedia Experience and the Special Interest Group on Multimedia Best Social Media Reporter Award. In parallel to his research, Conor has worked with TUS industry partners in the medical technology sector in addition to developing immersive multimedia experiences for the Confirm Centre of Smart Manufacturing.
